Another big power failure has hit India today, leaving much of the northern part of the country in darkness again and shutting down the metro in Delhi. Although no definite reasons have been found the suspicion in that the power failures have been caused by an increasing strain between supply and demand, leading many states to draw too much power from the national grid.
If the problems continue, and if supply cannot be raised to meet the demand of this growing BRIC economy this could have a significant impact on the Indian economy.
