A 56 year old grandmother from Britain has been sentenced to death on drug smuggling charges in Indonesia.
An Indonesian court sentenced Lindsay Sandiford to death on Tuesday, after she was found guilty of smuggling 4.8 kg of cocaine into the country. Sandiford was arrested as she entered the country on a flight from Bangkok, with $2.5 million worth of cocaine hidden in the lining of her suitcase, last May.
Lawyers representing Ms Sandiford have said that they will appeal against the ruling.
