Kirkuk Suicide Bombing – At Least 33 Dead
At least 33 people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack on a police headquarters in Kirkuk, Iraq.
According to local authorities two suicide bombers disguised as policemen drove a car into the entrance of the police HQ before detonating their explosives. Immediately following the explosion the building was attacked by a group of militants using AK-47 guns and hand grenades; this second wave of attackers were all killed by the building’s guards.
This latest attack follows the bloodiest month since the end of the US occupation of Iraq in January.
