A ten car crash at the Daytona Speedway race track sent debris flying into the crowd, injuring 29 fans. One driver was also injured in the crash.
The Nationwide Nascar race ended in carnage after driver Regan Smith turned sideways, causing several cars behind him to lose control. The car of Kyle Larson flew into the air and then smashed into the fence surrounding the track, ripping a hole which allowed a tyre and other debris to fly through into the stands. Larson was uninjured in the crash, but another driver – Michael Annet – required hospital treatment for chest bruising following the pile-up.
