Wave of Car Bombs Kill Dozens in Baghdad VPN

A wave of ten car bombs exploded across the capital of Iraq on Monday evening, killing an estimated 39 people and leaving many others seriously injured.

A Shi’ite Muslim celebration commemorating anniversary of the birth of a revered Imam on Monday was marked by the kind of sectarian violence which brought back memories of the darkest days following the US-led invasion. Many of the bomb’s targeted majority Shi’ite neighbourhoods, and Sunni militant groups including al Qaeda are thought to be behind the violence.
